The 2017 Annual meeting of the GAC/MAC in Kingston will coincide with the 175th anniversary of the founding of the GSC in Kingston. The Geological Survey of Canada, Canada’s oldest scientific agency, was established by the legislature of the Province of Canada in 1842, in Kingston, Canada West. In addition, Queen’s University was established 175 years ago as well and the Geological Association of Canada was founded 70 years ago.
The Department of Geological Sciences & Geological Engineering at Queen’s and the GSC will be hosting this celebratory event at Queen’s University.

Geological Association of Canada Luncheon – The GAC® annual luncheon will be held in the Levana Room,  Ban Righ Hall at Queen’s University.  Awards to be presented include the Logan Medal, W.W. Hutchison Medal , J. Willis Ambrose Medal, and the E.R. Ward Neale Medal.  May 15th from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. $55 (Professionals)/$25 (Students);

Mineralogical  Association of Canada Luncheon – The MAC luncheon will be held in the Levana Room,  Ban Righ Hall at Queen’s University.  The awards to be presented include the Peacock Medal, Young Scientist Award, and the Hawley Medal.  May 16th from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. $55 (Professionals)/$25 (Students);

Mineral Deposits Division (GAC) Luncheon – The MDD luncheon will be held in the Levana Room,  Ban Righ Hall at Queen’s University.  Awards to be presented include the Duncan R. Derry Medal and the William Harvey Gross Medal.  May 17th from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. $65 (all tickets).
