We are looking for students to help with some of the logistics of running such a big meeting. The duties would include making sure all the presenters have their lectures loaded into the system, overseeing the running of the projection systems and helping with posters, social events and getting the abstracts into a form that will be convenient for the attendees. The “pay” for this is that you get to attend the meeting with no charge and see the latest results in applied Earth science research. You also will meet a spectrum of people ranging from undergraduate students to professors to professionals who are all interested in Earth science. I think you would find the experience rewarding—not too many students get to see the inner workings of a national professional meeting.
